Now that wedding season is winding down for the year, I’ve got a little more time to catch up on important things.  Things like giving you all your “fix” of wedding photos, designing albums, and researching lot of fun ideas for next year’s weddings.  Well, I’ll be the first to admit that the blog has been quite picture-less lately, so I thought it was time to remedy that!

Liz and Ed were married in Boscobel in September.  I had no idea what to expect… their original reception venue closed months before their wedding, so Ed told me they would then have the reception on the family farm.  Little did I know this family farm was charming with fun little details that photographers drool over!  The sign above greeted me as I arrived.  The further I went, the more enchanted I became!

Liz and Ed actually live in Minnesota, so I hadn’t had a chance to meet them before.  But when we did meet, I discovered they were warm, thoughtful, and so laid back!  While Liz was putting on the final touches, I was able to take a few portrait shots of Ed.

When they did finally see each other, it was so fun to see how Liz just lit up his face.  I love this one:

I LOVE this next shot of the bouquet.  Check out the copper curly wires sticking out of the flowers!

Then we headed off to the church… the guys still had a few final touches before they were ready, and everyone was able to get some relaxed visiting time prior to the ceremony.  I love when my clients plan for extra time to just relax on such a busy day!

Afer a few final formal portraits, we headed off to the reception.

This cracked me up: they had a small pen set up at the corner of their reception.  Yes, you are reading it correctly: the sign says “Naughty Kids”. To the best of my knowledge, all children behaved perfectly.

Liz and Ed, congratulations!  It was a pleasure to meet you!  It was so nice to shoot a wedding so close to my house.  Normally I’m all over Wisconsin and Iowa, so a beautiful wedding 20 miles away from my home was a nice change of pace.
