I’m pleased to announce that Studio Noveau has just received word that we’ve received the WeddingWire Bride’s Choice Award for 2010!

The annual Bride’s Choice Awards recognizes and celebrates excellence in quality and service within the wedding industry, as determined by recent reviews and extensive surveys from over 500,000 newlyweds. Studio Noveau is among the top five percent of all vendors in the WeddingWire community, which includes over 100,000 wedding professionals across the US and Canada. Awards were given to winners across 19 different service categories, from wedding venues to wedding photographers.

Thanks to all of my clients who left reviews and feedback on my services! This is the second year Studio Noveau has been given this honor, and I’m flattered!

Several weeks ago, I entered this photo in the Modern Photographers “Best of Wedding Day” contest.
Studio Noveau's Grapes of Love

A little background on Modern Photographers: to become a member, a photographer must apply and be judged by a panel of peers. They must uphold high standards, shoot with professional quality equipment, have full backup equipment, and more. The photographer’s style must all be considered “modern”. Earlier this year, I applied for membership and was accepted! That acceptance made me the second photographer in the state of Wisconsin to be considered a “Modern Photographer” so I was pretty excited.

Well, a few weeks ago, Modern Photographers announced a photo contest. Those of you who are Facebook fans of Studio Noveau may remember me posting about this. As I mentioned above, I submitted the photo of Ross and Amanda from their wedding in Viroqua at Pedretti Party Barn (and vineyards). Today I received an email… not only did this photo place in the top 10 of all submissions, it actually took THIRD place! Hooray!

Thanks to all my fans, family, friends, and clients who voted for me, and special thanks to Ross and Amanda for being so wonderful to work with on their wedding day!  I’m honored to have your support, and so excited to have placed third in this national contest!

When I was interviewed by Modern Bride magazine last year, I wasn’t sure if the article would even be published, much less include any of my information! But it was a pleasant surprise to open up this month’s issue and see my name in an article!

If any of you are Modern Bride magazine readers, please open up the April issue to page 310, the article on bartering for wedding photography. I’m mentioned in the paragraph on the bottom of page 312 and 313. Cool, huh? :)

While bartering isn’t for everyone, it can often be a great way to make a wedding more affordable if you have services and skills or products that are in demand to the person you are bartering with. In case you are curious, I’m definitely open to bartering certain products or services for my photography. Of course, it needs to be a good barter for both of us, but I’m willing to give it a shot!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

In honor of the holiday of LOVE, I‘m going to give the next person that emails me a Sassy Boudoir session or Trash the Dress for only $75!  But only one person will get this awesome price, so email right away!
UPDATE: Congratulations LINDSAY!  You are the proud owner of a shiny new boudoir session for only $75.   :)
Also, congratulations to the three winners from the McGregor Bridal show. I’ve drawn three names, Katie, Tabby, and Jennifer, who have each won a $50 gift certificate they can apply to any session or package of their choice.  One of the girls is getting married in May and already has her photographer, but she’s excited to use her gift certificate for a Trash The Dress session!
Also, I am nearly booked for 2009.  I have one opening in July and several openings throughout November and December.  So don’t wait too long to contact me!  :) I’ve already had about 8 requests for 2010, so I expect to start booking next year very soon.  Thanks to all of my awesome clients for making my 2009 book up so quickly! This year I’ll be shooting weddings in three states and two countries.  Yay!
Did I mention I love my job?  :)

If you are in the Prairie Du Chien or McGregor areas, please come visit me at the McGregor Landing and Event Center from 12-4. This will be my first time at this show, so please come by to say hello!

Also, more news:

I’ve been selected as a Wedding Wire Bride’s Choice Award recipient! This award goes out to WeddingWire.com vendors, and they are chosen by their customers’ ratings. :) That’s pretty cool, huh?
