Krista and Paul live in England, and when they contacted me about shooting their wedding in Canada, I was thrilled. Having never been to Banff National Park in Alberta, Canada before, I quickly Googled the location. After viewing a few photos online, I knew it would be amazing. So, this July, my husband (and occasional second shooter) Ben and I packed up our bags and headed to the Canadian Rockies. Krista and Paul chose one of the loveliest locations I’ve ever seen. Seriously. Their guests flew in from around the world… all over Europe and the US. I’ve shot some weddings with international guest lists before, but this one was by far the most diverse.
We stayed at a mid-century hotel that has been nicely updated. It was called The Juniper. This was the view from our room!
Anyway, back to Krista and Paul. Here are a few of my favorites from their wedding collection. Their ceremony was held at The Rimrock Hotel which was lovely with an amazing view.
The ceremony site:
After their wedding, the wedding party took a tour around the area on a coach bus. Here are a few of my favorites from their “formal-ish” photos.

The reception was back at The Juniper.
Day After Session:
First location was Bow River in downtown Banff.
Location 2: Lake Moraine. The water was soooo blue. And it rained… hence the umbrella – it wasn’t meant to be a prop. But it sure made a nice one, didn’t it?![]()
Location 3 – Lake Louise. Notice the bluish-green water. Luckily the rain stopped and we could head out on the lake. (The above right photo was taken here, not at Lake Moraine. Can you tell the difference in the water color?)
BONUS SECTION! Extra Banff photos…
Ben and I took our first helicoptor tour around Banff. Holy crap…. awesomeness. Other than (me) getting a bit airsick towards the end, it was a fantastic experience and totally worth the splurge. Here are a couple photos we (okay, mostly Ben) took during our flight.
Remember the mid-century hotel I mentioned, The Juniper? It didn’t look particularly glamorous from the outside, but it was quite nice inside! I actually like this type of hotel! Here are two more shots from our balcony:

And one final shot from a hike we did just outside of Banff:

By the way, if you are looking for a great honeymoon location and aren’t the type of couple who enjoys sitting on a beach, you should check out Banff! We are looking forward to our next trip there. As an added bonus, the food here was all amazing. We didn’t have a single disappointing meal… something pretty important for foodies like us.
A few of our favorites: The Bison, The Meatball, and Evelyn’s Coffee Bar.
Whew. Lots of photos.
Hope you enjoyed it!
